Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is a fungus native to East Asia that is used as an edible fungus as well as a medicinal fungus. Nitake has undergone numerous scientific studies in recent decades and is one of the most studied fungal species.

Behind the positive effects of the fungus are the polysaccharides it contains, as well as strong antioxidants such as ictyol. Ictyol has traditionally been used to treat allergies and viruses. Siitake is one of the few vegan foods that contains vitamin D.

Feel Vivid's Organic Shiitake extract powder is double extracted in ethanol and hot water, after which it is freeze-dried. 1 kg of Shiitake extract powder is equivalent to about 8 kg of ordinary Shiitake powder.
